Topic: 1.5 RC3: No reconnect

Hi there,

in opposite to 1.4.2 the new version of Wicd automatically connects to the network when the computer starts. Fine.

Unfortunately, Wicd doesn't reconnect after a disconnect. Statusbar only says "validating authentication" and then everything stands still.

I'm using Hardy, Intel 3945ABG and static IPs.

Re: 1.5 RC3: No reconnect

Could you post /var/log/wicd/wicd.log?  Also, when you say it stands still at "validating authentication" does it stay stuck at that step forever, or does it eventually fail and try to reconnect again?

Re: 1.5 RC3: No reconnect

1. It's different.

- Sometimes it really stands still and nothing happens.
- In other cases the status report switches back to "not connected".
- Then, sometimes it tries to reconnect.
- My last attempt was strange, too. The reconnect failed and after the second manual reconnect Wicd tried to connect to an alien network, not mine.

2. Same problem with 1.5 RC1.

3. Similar problem with 1.4.2. When I didn't use the network for some time, the connection always was gone. Trying to reconnect, the statusreport always switched from connected to unconnected to connected to unconnected and so on. There was no use, I always had to reboot.
I guess I had no problem with Etch and 1.4.2, but I'm not sure.

4. Log is following. I have to reboot first.
